This Directorate sensitizes various groups such as faith-based organizations, constituency-based leadership, public and private sector and the youth. Special groups are also included and comprise of truck drivers, Intravenous Drug Users, (IDUs) matatu drivers, prisoners and people living with disabilities.
In this regard, all public sector institutions are required to mainstream alcohol and drugs preventions programmes in their operations. NACADA uses various avenues to conduct public awareness and sensitization such as trade fairs, public and other holidays. The Authority also produces targeted Information, Education and Communication materials and is lobbying for mainstreaming of alcohol and drug abuse prevention content to be infused in the schools curriculum.
