Scope

  1. Develop legal and institutional framework for control of drug abuse.
  2. Co-ordinate public eduction campaign against drug abuse.
  3. Mobilize resources for drug abuse control and prevention
  4. Develop mechanism in collaboration with key stakeholders for curbing drug abuse in schools and other institutions of learning
  5. Develop an action plan for curbing drug abuse by the youth
  6. Facilitate the setting-up of rehabilitation facilities for drug dependant persons
  7. Submit annual reports and recommendations to the Minister for the time being responsible for matters relating to drug abuse
  8. The board may open offices at the provincial or district level to facilitate implementation of this mandate
  9. Perform any other function incidental to the foregoing.
